They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technical Writer/Editor to create, edit, and manage technical documents while supporting research and development efforts at the Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Responsibilities
Providing comprehensive technical writing and editing support
Ensuring technical documentation is accurate, well-organized, and adheres to approved standards
Managing configuration control of documents
Acting as a document librarian
Facilitating easy access to resources for team members and stakeholders
Scheduling meetings
Preparing agendas
Recording minutes
Tracking action items to ensure follow-through on project tasks
Supporting project management activities related to procurement
Evaluating progress against project goals and requirements
Collaborating with team members and leadership to ensure seamless communication and documentation flow
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical writing, editing, formatting, and configuration management of documentation
Experience supporting meetings through scheduling, facilitating, and minute-taking
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Working knowledge of MS Project
Strong interpersonal skills
Sound judgment
Ability to work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Physically capable of lifting up to 15-25 pounds
Standing, walking for extended periods, and performing periodic twisting, bending, and squatting
Preferred
Familiarity with project management support, especially in evaluating whether project goals and requirements are met
Experience related to Gun Weapon Systems and Navy programs
