Responsibilities
Maintain and analyze standard and actual product costs, including material, labor, and overhead components
Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in accordance with GAAP
Ensure accurate BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing cost structures in the ERP system
Perform monthly inventory close, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and inventory roll-forwards
Calculate, analyze, and explain PPV, labor, and overhead variances and partner with Operations to drive improvements
Manage labor and overhead cost allocation methodologies, including absorption costing and overhead rate updates
Review and maintain standard costs, including annual cost roll-ups and interim updates
Analyze manufacturing performance metrics including yield, scrap, rework, and efficiency
Support new product cost modeling, quoting, and margin analysis
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules related to inventory, COGS, and reserves
Support month-end close and ensure accurate reporting of inventory and manufacturing costs
Maintain inventory reserves for excess and obsolete, slow-moving, and scrap inventory
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and SOX (if applicable)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience with inventory accounting, BOMs, standard costing, and variance analysis
Experience with labor and overhead absorption costing
Advanced Excel skills
