Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end electrical review process for residential solar designs
Supervise and train a team of electrical reviewers to ensure accuracy and consistency
Ensure compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility standards
Review one-line diagrams, system schematics, panel schedules, and interconnection methods
Coordinate with CAD, permitting, and engineering teams to resolve design issues
Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical codes and technical guidance
Track KPIs related to review timelines, error rates, and approval cycles
Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements
Support training initiatives on code updates and best practices
Stay current on NEC updates, utility interconnection policies, and permitting guidelines
Qualification
Required
5–7 years of experience in residential solar or electrical design
At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
In-depth knowledge of NEC, including Article 690
Experience reviewing PV system designs and single-line diagrams
Understanding of utility interconnection and permitting workflows
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and commitment to safety
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Aurora Solar, or similar platforms
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
NABCEP PV Installation Professional or Design Specialist certification
Journeyman or Master Electrician license
Experience managing review teams or QA processes
Familiarity with battery storage and hybrid systems
