Administrative Services Assistant

Responsibilities
Receiving and processing telephone calls and messages
Monitoring the invoice in-box requests daily to ensure prompt action is taken on requests
Preparing invoices for submission to the Budget Unit
Receiving, reviewing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
Serve as a Master Timekeeper, assisting staff with their time and attendance, and preparing corrected timesheets
Serve as a Purchase Cardholder for the office
Maintains an effective inventory control system
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period
You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement
To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level
Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a wide range of administrative, technical, and clerical support duties such as providing customer support to internal and external customers; receiving telephone calls and visitors to an office; data entry into logs and databases; preparing reports for a program area to track and review trends and processes; processing and recording checks, money orders, or other forms of payment; providing office automation support (e.g. creating, copying, editing, storing, retrieving a variety of documents); or entering data into one or more computer systems
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)
