They are seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Architect to join their F15 International Vehicle Simulation team, focusing on modernizing legacy simulation software and creating advanced fighter jet simulation models for the F-15 platform.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, virtual environments, and frameworks to improve test performance, safety, and system durability throughout the product lifecycle
Modernize existing legacy simulation software to align with current coding standards, ensuring compatibility with modern operating systems and hardware platforms
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and review simulation requirements, translating them into effective system designs and architectures
Oversee the modeling, testing, and analysis of simulation systems to optimize performance and capabilities, ensuring high fidelity and realism
Manage validation, verification, and refinement processes for simulation software, including executing test procedures, documenting results, and benchmarking against real-world data
Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical code, algorithms, and system specifications, ensuring clarity and traceability across the development lifecycle
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to facilitate seamless integration of simulation software with hardware components and systems
Implement emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance simulation environments and improve development efficiency
Guide the migration and sustainability efforts of simulation software, ensuring legacy systems are updated and maintained effectively
Advise management on best practices, technological advancements, and strategic directions for simulation software engineering

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field from an accredited institution
Minimum of 10 years in software development involving languages such as C++, Python, Ada, C, and Java
Proven expertise in real-time software architecture, system design, and development within aerospace or defense environments
Leadership experience in managing technical teams or projects for at least three years
Excellent communication skills
Technical problem-solving abilities
Strong understanding of software lifecycle management

Preferred

Familiarity with aircraft systems
Simulation validation and verification processes
Modern software tools such as containers, build systems, and version control (Git)
