Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
Support the performance, verification, and sustainment of tactical communication systems and components, ensuring operational readiness and reliability
Participating in formal engineering analysis
Reviewing performance parameters at the system and component levels
Developing data management and processing software tools
Analyzing Data Link messages
Building and assessing test cases
Troubleshooting system issues to improve performance
Interpret and maintain system requirements using tools like DOORS or JIRA
Present design and project updates during reviews
Prepare technical reports, briefings, and documentation
May be involved in developing test plans and defect reports
Familiarity with tactical datalink radios, MIL-STD interfaces, and network security protocols will be essential for success
May also require some physical activity within a Systems Integration Lab environment and handling classified information with utmost security and confidentiality
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of six (6) years of applicable experience
Graduate degree with at least four (4) years of relevant experience, or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience without a degree
Current Department of Defense (DOD) Secret Security Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience troubleshooting Data Link systems such as Link16, CMF, or similar communication systems in single and multi-level security environments
Preferred
Familiarity with Mil-Standards 3011, 6016, 6018, and 6020
Software coding and development experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Knowledge of Unix/Linux commands
Networking technologies
Experience with tactical radios and interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553B
