Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Academic Support Intern to provide administrative support for the Academic Support unit at the University of Georgia. The role involves assisting with daily operations, evening study hall coverage, and working with students on study skills and organization.

Responsibilities

Assists with daily operations related to academic support and related administrative tasks for the Director of Academic Support
Evening study hall coverage 1-2 nights a week
Work with a small caseload of students on development of study skills, time management, and organization
Clerical duties, including but not limited to, handling information requests, preparing, and sending correspondence
Assist Learning Specialists with additional tasks as needed
Other duties as assigned

Education degreeCollegiate athletics experienceNCAA rules familiarityMicrosoft WordMicrosoft ExcelWritten communicationOral communicationOrganizational skillsTime management

Required

Master's degree or progress towards degree in Education, Higher Education, Psychology, Sport Management, or a related field
Experience in collegiate athletics academic support, higher education, teaching, or related field
Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations
Ability to read and write business correspondence and to communicate proficiently with individuals within and outside the University by telephone and email
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Skills in organizing and coordinating meetings
Ability to interact with individuals at all levels
Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database knowledge
Driving as needed for job duties

Preferred

Strong interest in pursuing a career in Intercollegiate Athletics
