Designer Drafter
Western Utility Telecom, Inc. is focused on innovating and optimizing power engineering solutions. They are seeking a Designer Drafter to create high-quality electrical and structural designs for power engineering projects, collaborating closely with engineers and project managers.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical circuits, system layouts, and structural designs
Create and refine designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other industry-leading tools
Work closely with engineers, drafters, and project managers to meet project goals
Ensure all designs meet industry standards and customer expectations
Maintain accurate records and conduct quality checks on all drawings
Support research and development efforts to enhance design methodologies
Qualification
Required
2+ years in design/drafting within a utility or engineering firm (Designer I or equivalent role preferred)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite
Basic understanding of power engineering, including substation, relay protection, and structural systems
Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to technical accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Associate's degree in design/drafting or a related field preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus
