Training Specialist

Bowhead / UIC Technical Services is a leading provider of specialized technical solutions and training services dedicated to supporting the United States Navy and other defense agencies. Responsibilities

Developing, organizing, and conducting comprehensive training sessions in support of GM, FC, and IC technical courses
Designing curriculum lesson plans, creating instructor guides, and customizing training materials to meet specific operational needs
Delivering both traditional classroom instruction and practical maintenance training, ensuring sailors acquire and demonstrate proficiency in complex Navy Combat Systems
Conducting dynamic assessments of trainees' abilities, providing formal feedback and performance appraisals, along with recommendations for improvement
Supporting formal course reviews and curriculum updates by analyzing training gaps and recommending enhancements to improve course effectiveness
Testing and maintaining training programs, establishing evaluation criteria, and documenting training activities, participant progress, and program outcomes
Staying current with technological advancements relevant to Navy Combat Systems and incorporating these into training modules
Supporting training gap analysis, participating in curriculum review meetings, and providing technical expertise to ensure training remains aligned with operational requirements

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, military training, or work experience
A minimum of three years of experience as a maintenance technician or operator responsible for system tasks
At least one year spent as an instructor within a Navy training environment
Experience in curriculum maintenance, developing learning objectives, preparing assessment tools, and evaluating instructional effectiveness
Familiarity with Navy Combat Systems and operational procedures
An active security clearance at the Secret level
US citizenship is mandatory to meet security requirements
Physical capability to lift 15-25 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform periodic bending, twisting, and squatting
