Responsibilities
Reconciling data between the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and the payroll system
Maintaining all aspects of salary rates for each employee
Performing complex calculations for retroactive salary actions
Resolving payroll discrepancies
Answering questions and resolving issues for payroll-related matters
Applying Federal, State, and MDOT policies and procedures to payroll activities
Preparing payroll and financial reports
Responding to audit requests and implementing corrective actions
Maintaining personnel records
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Four (4) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work
Two (2) years of the required experience must have involved experience in processing gross payroll transactions
Preferred
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to manage stress in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines on a biweekly basis
