Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct departmental goals and operations for regulatory compliance and product safety testing
Supervise engineers, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure project completion on schedule and within scope
Hire, train, and develop departmental staff, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Coordinate the acquisition and installation of testing equipment
Implement and maintain the corporate Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 17025
Participate in industry organizations and contribute to standards development processes
Interface with project teams, providing guidance on regulatory requirements and compliance
Manage workflow and communication with corporate or headquarters teams as necessary
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; BA in Business Management preferred
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in regulatory compliance, product safety testing, or a related field
Familiarity with UL/CSA and IEC standards
Strong understanding of electrical/electronic theory and circuit operation
Experience with quality management systems, change management, and leadership of technical teams
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a laboratory or field environment
Willingness to travel occasionally to support standards development or industry participation
Preferred
Management training or prior supervisory experience in a technical environment
Experience in laboratory operations and test equipment coordination
Knowledge of regulatory certification processes and compliance documentation
