Responsibilities

Identify volunteer opportunities across the organization, recruit volunteers from diverse community groups, and design and deliver a comprehensive volunteer orientation process
Act as the liaison between volunteers who potentially can sponsor or donate and the Development Team
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure a positive and rewarding volunteer experience. Maintain an up-to-date volunteer database and calendar
Provide ongoing recognition and appreciation for volunteers, including planning and executing an Annual Volunteer Recognition event
Actively assist the Development Team with fundraising events and activities, particularly those requiring volunteer participation
Coordinate in-kind (non-financial) donations for programs and clients, maintaining ongoing communication with staff regarding needs and procedures

Required

Proactive and organized self-starter
Experience in developing and implementing volunteer programs
Ability to recruit volunteers from diverse community groups
Experience in designing and delivering volunteer orientation processes
Strong interpersonal skills to act as a liaison between volunteers and the Development Team
Ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers for a positive volunteer experience
Experience in maintaining a volunteer database and calendar
Ability to provide ongoing recognition and appreciation for volunteers
Experience in planning and executing volunteer recognition events
Ability to assist with fundraising events and activities
Experience in coordinating in-kind donations and maintaining communication regarding needs and procedures
Ability to provide general administrative support
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and anticipate needs/challenges
Problem-solving skills

Preferred

Experience or willingness to seek out and cultivate relationships that lead to increased agency funding
Strong interaction with the community and other departments
