Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs supporting money movement, authentication, and customer data services
Build new APIs from scratch while also enhancing and supporting existing services (bug fixes, performance improvements, new features)
Contribute to API gateway integrations and proxy configurations using Kong (experience with Apigee a plus)
Develop and deploy serverless solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch
Support infrastructure automation using Terraform or other Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools
Collaborate closely with product managers, platform teams, and other engineers to deliver scalable, secure solutions
Monitor APIs in production, participate in incident triage, and apply an application‑architecture mindset to system behavior and performance
Assist with modernization efforts, including supporting legacy Java/Spring Boot services during cloud transition
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement across CI/CD pipelines and development practices
Qualification
Required
3–5 years of experience building backend or API‑driven applications
Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, or Python for API development
Hands‑on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, particularly in a serverless or event‑driven architecture
Experience supporting applications in production environments, including monitoring and troubleshooting
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based version control, and Agile development practices
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and product teams
Preferred
Experience with API management platforms such as Kong or Apigee
Exposure to financial services or money movement systems
Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB)
Understanding of SOAP services, Apache Camel, or hybrid REST/SOAP environments
AWS Certification (Solutions Architect – Associate or similar)
