STEPS Data Engineer
University of Kentucky is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join their data team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and integrations that support reporting, analytics, and operational systems, while working closely with the Data Architect to implement data models and ensure data quality.

Qualification
Required
BA
3 years of related experience
None required for license/registration/certification
Sitting for long periods of time
Repetitive movement
Strong experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, Synapse Pipelines, or Fabric Data Factory
Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, normalization, conceptual/logical/physical models)
Experience consuming and integrating with SOAP and REST APIs
Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
Experience designing, testing, and maintaining data workflows and pipelines
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and best practices for data management
Preferred
Bachelors Degree
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ETL Developer, or similar role
