Engineer, Capex & Mechanical Reliability
Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking an Engineer, CAPEX & Mechanical Reliability to support their Specialty Resins manufacturing site. This role involves managing capital projects and enhancing mechanical integrity and reliability within the facility, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities
Lead small to mid-size CAPEX projects from scope development through execution and close-out
Develop technical scopes, cost justifications, and RFQs; serve as the technical resource for Procurement
Review bids, manage contractors, control scope, schedule, and costs
Ensure projects meet safety, quality, regulatory, and financial requirements
Support and enhance the site’s Mechanical Integrity program in partnership with Maintenance
Help develop inspection and test plans, including RBI and condition monitoring strategies
Review inspection data, corrosion rates, and failure mechanisms; recommend corrective actions
Support implementation and optimization of SAP PM for maintenance planning
Participate in HAZOPs, PHAs, and process safety reviews
Maintain and support PSM and engineering documentation (P&IDs, drawings, plot plans, etc.)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience 15+ years)
8–10+ years of experience in a chemical or process manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of mechanical systems, inspection techniques, and integrity programs
Familiarity with RBI, corrosion monitoring, and failure analysis
Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
Preferred
Experience with SAP PM is a plus
