Responsibilities
Create and analyze technical requirements to determine optimal solutions for embedded electronic systems
Design and develop microprocessor-based embedded electronic systems with strong focus on power electronics
Adapt electronic circuitry for vehicle and ruggedized fixed-equipment applications
Perform worst-case analog and digital circuit analysis, simulation, integration, and verification
Design and validate high-voltage and low-voltage systems, including 3-phase DC-DC converters (700–800V HV, ~56V LV)
Support PCB-level bring-up, debugging, verification, and prototype development
Develop design documentation, analysis plans, and verification/validation plans
Provide hands-on lab support for testing, troubleshooting, and prototyping
Support manufacturing, quality, and supply management teams with onsite technical expertise
Contribute within cross-functional teams, focusing on switch-mode power conversion and inverter design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
3–5 years of electrical design experience, or a Master's degree with relevant internship experience
Experience in: Analog, digital, and power electronic circuit design
Microprocessor-based embedded systems and software interactions
Circuit adaptation for vehicle or ruggedized environments
Testing, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements
Circuit architecture and component selection
Strong hands-on lab skills (oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, debugging tools)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work 100% onsite in Fargo, ND
Preferred
Advanced degree specializing in power electronics (DC-DC conversion, AC motor drives)
Experience designing: Inverters and DC-DC converters for 12V/24V/48V systems
High-voltage isolated systems up to 800V DC
Battery Management Systems (BMS)
Full product development lifecycle experience (concept to production)
Design experience for harsh or ruggedized environments
Knowledge of hybrid/electric vehicle electrical architectures
Experience with: MathCAD
Circuit simulation tools
Siemens/Mentor Graphics or similar schematic tools
Microcontroller or FPGA-based designs
Experience leading electronic design activities within project teams
