Security/ AV Lead Technician

Responsibilities

Lead installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of low-voltage security and AV systems, including: Access control, video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, Commercial AV systems (displays, conferencing, audio, control systems)
Interpret and execute drawings, schematics, and project documentation
Perform system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and advanced service work
Ensure installations meet code requirements, manufacturer specifications, and company standards
Act as the on-site lead for assigned projects, coordinating daily work activities
Mentor and guide technicians and apprentices, ensuring quality and efficiency
Communicate progress, challenges, and change needs to Project Managers
Support project closeout, punch lists, and system turnover documentation
Serve as a professional, customer-facing representative of Tech Electronics
Explain system functionality and provide basic user training when required
Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and jobsite professionalism
Enforce jobsite safety practices and company policies
Maintain accurate documentation, as-builts, and service records
Assist with quality control inspections and system acceptance testing

Required

5+ years of experience in low-voltage security and/or AV systems installation
Proven experience leading projects or crews in the field
Strong knowledge of: Access control, CCTV, intrusion systems, Commercial AV components and signal flow, Low-voltage cabling standards and best practices
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred

Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Axis, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, etc.)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
NICET or other industry certifications
Experience with system commissioning and customer training
