This role is responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, collaborating with engineering and sourcing teams, and managing supplier performance to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Driving quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation
Collaborating with Engineering and Sourcing to select and approve suppliers through approval and qualification processes
Owning supplier assessments, part/process qualification supplier results
Driving improvements utilizing supplier scorecards
Owning ongoing supplier audits, and supplier monitoring ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed
Be the primary interface between critical suppliers & engineering requirements
Manage supplier quality, supplier performance, including formal Supplier Quality Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as appropriate
Set qualification- surveillance strategy
Manage new supplier identification & development
Manage new Technology introduction & qualification
Lead supplier quality reviews
Be the Primary Tech support for Sourcing/Manufacturing/Engineering
Lead effort to reduce COQ and product DPMO
Perform and lead Customer witness / inspection meetings at suppliers
Be the other SQE’s mentor
Develop & Conduct SQE training
Lead supplier critical RCAs or support other business SQEs leading them
Issue technical data to support Sourcing for critical Vendor Recovery and support the business SQEs
Execute surveillance audits as per agreed plan
Identify and Lead Process Capability initiatives
Monitor Supplier scorecards – Quality Section and ensure accuracy
Be accountable for functional, business, and broad company Supplier Quality objectives
Drive Supplier Quality initiatives to continually improve SQE team effectiveness
Drive root cause identification for Cost of Failure and defect rate for suppliers in your scope
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product line, and commercial teams to eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of sourced components
Be an advocate for standard work within the team
Be a Lean advocate
Drive qualification simplification: reduce requirements based on experience, part family quals, etc
Support meetings with customer at GE factory or at supplier premises to discuss specific technical challenges
Participate in Design Reviews to optimize manufacturability of new designs
Lead 'special' projects for the commodity: CMM point reduction, net shape on forgings, etc

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience
Technical aptitude

Commodity expertise (materials, forging, non destructive examination including ultrasonic)
Significant and proven Sourcing/Engineering/Manufacturing experience
Significant and proven of Supplier Quality or equivalent experience
English fluency
Travel as needed, up to 50% of time to drive strategy, support problem solving at Suppliers

Preferred

Experience with supplier qualification, development, manufacturing assessment, and surveillance
Product line expertise of significant and proven experience with a technology/engineering background
Material engineering expertise
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, teamwork, networking skills, collaboration & conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated project management skills to establish strategic goals and to prioritize, plan, delegate & evaluate deliverables
Process improvement experience, knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & in-depth understanding of related processes
RCA Leader certified
Strong problem solving and negotiation skills with the ability to develop & implement complex influencing & negotiating strategies
Ability to influence and enroll by making recommendations for appropriate action at all levels of the company
Strong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and write clearly & convincingly in English, tailoring communication methods to customer's requirements
Ability to respond / react with appropriate urgency / professionalism & make decisions under pressure / stress
