This role involves working with department administrators to assemble petitions, advising on immigration compliance, and drafting support letters for beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for international employees by providing information and support on H-1B immigration status issues
Work with department administrators and beneficiaries to collect documents and assemble petitions for H-1B work authorization from US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
Liaise with department administrators and other UAB administrative partners to obtain checks and signatures
Draft travel and visa appointment support letters for H-1B beneficiaries
Advise international employees on matters of immigration compliance and university policy

Qualification

International Studies degreePre-Law degreeBusiness degreeCommunication skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in International Studies, Pre-Law, Business or a related field
two (2) years of related experience
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
