Principal Project Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

Participation in Engineering Review Boards and Configuration Control Boards, Line of Balance material reviews, production planning, supporting program operations requirements aligned with program objectives
Providing Effectivities for Variances and engineering Change Notices
Help with communication between the factory and the program including:
Informing program of major factory issues
Informing factory of major program changes
Keeping the Manufacturing Engineers informed when items such as variance and engineering change notices get approved at board that would affect their hardware
Communicating across different factories
Creating and managing Material Master and Manufacturing Bill of Material request
Addressing large scale quality issues that affect the factory
Understanding the configurations of hardware that are planned to be built per contract requirements and helping to ensure the factory is aligned
Assist with future contract proposals by providing the manufacturing bill of materials for applicable hardware configurations and other manufacturing scoped tasks

Required

Requires a Bachelor degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
Experience with leading cross-functional team projects
The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Preferred

Experience with manufacturing
Experience with SAP/PRISM
Experience or education with lean manufacturing
Experience/education with technical writing
Strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Technical problem solving
Experience/education with interpretation of technical documentation
Experience/education with project execution
Current DOD Security clearance
