Responsibilities
Creating, maintaining and distributing mapping data based on engineering input, as well as client/third-party needs
Publishing and maintaining web-based map services and applications
Incorporating and integrating with survey, GIS, engineering, environmental, land and other technical datasets
Producing extensive mapping and drawing packages and numerous other mapping deliverables – pipeline alignment sheets, permit drawings, plats, detail drawings, plans and profiles, location maps and other related deliverables
Leading mapping/design and analysis to support the generation of development opportunities
Leveraging standard AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software applications, as well as custom/proprietary tools developed by Troy and/or clients
Coordinating and verifying the quality of mapping data/operations for large engineering projects
Collaborating with engineering, GIS and constructability team members on numerous work assignments in a proactive, client-oriented environment
Expanding digital capabilities by exploring and integrating new technologies and software, plus developing new strategies to improve existing methods, digital tools, automation, and workflows
Perform coordination with constructability, engineering, survey, environmental, geotechnical and right-of-way team members
Prepare technical documents and correspondence
Provide direction for mapping data to be incorporated into digital project controls tools
Interface and connect daily with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
Provide mapping content for proposal development in response to client RFPs
Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced team members
Qualification
Required
Technical training, proficiency and experience in mapping/drafting functions
Expertise in applicable industry codes and standards
Senior Mapping Specialist: 10+ years' experience in mapping/drafting and related services
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, databases and related software programs
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with significant collaboration, knowledge sharing and focus on customer service
Preferred
Experience with Skyline (BSD) – preferred but not required
Experience with GIS technology/mapping – advantageous but not required
