WIC Client Coordinator

Responsibilities

Responsible for income screening and benefit issuance for a supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children at the Sunnybrook location for Human Services and regional sites including any new sites
Registering clients for services, interviewing clients on a one-to-one basis; accessing computer-based records; making eligibility and issuance determination based on federal and state rules and regulations; entering information and data within clients' records
Answering incoming calls and inquiries regarding the program; assisting the public with program explanation, scheduling all WIC appointments, and making referrals to other agencies and services
Assisting with special projects and duties as requested, performing research, gathering materials and collecting and entering data

Required

High school diploma or GED
Two years of experience in clerical or administrative support work
Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Strong problem-solving skills
Easily adapts to changing situations

Experience working with the WIC Program
Experience working with the public
Experience determining eligibility based on income, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting
Experience with computer data entry
Experience applying federal policies and regulations
Proficient in Spanish is preferred
