Responsibilities
Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and PPAP documentation for customers
Create inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspections
Program and operate Micro-Vu vision systems for final inspections within the metal matrix composite department
Program Keyence IM systems for incoming and final inspections
Set daily priorities for QA/QC lab inspectors, ensuring accurate and efficient measurement methods
Oversee final inspections to meet shipping deadlines while ensuring the highest quality standards
Train HPB visual inspectors and develop work instructions and visual aids
Manage and maintain inspection software for incoming and final inspections, implementing improvements to streamline data storage and inspection processes
Participate in recurring meetings with key customers to address quality concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with Procurement to communicate and resolve supplier and vendor quality issues
Coordinate and lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings
Host Return Material Authorization (RMA) meetings, manage RMAs, and ensure timely customer responses
Perform root cause analysis and participate in Ishikawa, 8D, and FMEA processes
Determine inspection sampling sizes (AQL) and apply statistical tools (JMP, Excel, 1Factory) for data analysis and visualization
Support product testing initiatives, including salt atmosphere, CTE, solder dip, and related tests
Execute material transactions within the M2M ERP system, including scrap and MRB movements
Support onboarding of new automated inspection equipment on the HPB manufacturing floor
Design and 3D print QA fixtures using SolidWorks
Collaborate with New Product Development teams to develop inspection methods and programs during R&D and NPD phases
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to improve manufacturing yield and product quality
Participate in internal, external, and third-party audits
Review customer quality flow-down requirements and participate in sales order meetings
Attend daily stand-up meetings to report on QA-related activities and issues
Apply GD&T knowledge to review engineering drawings and ensure accurate quality assessments
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
Experience with SAP, M2M, QT9, or other ERP systems
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements
Proficiency in applying core quality tools (5-Why, Ishikawa, 8D)
Experience compiling, analyzing, formatting, and presenting data
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work safely while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred
Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification
Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management System requirements
