Responsibilities

Interprets mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols
Conducts prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions
Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support of existing products
Develops and designs basic tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing equipment and systems
Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation
Provides documentation on assembly methods and test procedures
Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues
Provides technical assistance in matters of products, materials, equipment and processes
Travel up to 30% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences
Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to 'Total Customer Satisfaction' among team members

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering ideally mechanical, electrical, or electrical technology
Internship, Co-Op or equivalent industry project experience
Manufacturing processes knowledge
Materials, materials processing and metallurgy knowledge
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications
Ability to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols
Ability to conduct prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions
Ability to work in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality
Ability to develop and design basic tools and fixtures
Ability to research and specify manufacturing equipment and systems
Ability to create and maintain accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation
Ability to provide documentation on assembly methods and test procedures
Ability to conduct failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues
Ability to provide technical assistance in matters of products, materials, equipment and processes
