The role involves building production software and automation platforms, developing automation for Kubernetes clusters, and collaborating with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities
Build production software, automation platforms, or infrastructure tooling
Develop automation for Kubernetes cluster platform
Proficient in Python to automate cloud environments and infrastructure
Apply model Kubernetes design patterns as controllers, operators, CRDs, APIs and custom resource definitions for better operational efficiency and scalability
Build large, distributed, and scalable software systems
Collaborate with DevOps, security, infrastructure (storage, compute, networking), Applications, Quality, Product etc. teams
Qualification
Required
Expertise in distributed systems, orchestration architectures, or large scale platform development
Skilled in designing for scalability and resilience in high-scale environments
Unix/Linux OS programming environment experience. Debug Linux-based production systems. Maintain Linux servers & clusters
Reliability & Observability: Define SLOs/SLIs for critical services; standardize logging, metrics, and tracing; implement automated detection, alerting, and recovery to improve availability and reduce MTTR
Cross-Org Influence: Partner with infrastructure, Cloud, DB, security teams to align priorities & unblock dependencies
Familiarity with, and passion for Kubernetes and related technologies. Deep understanding of Kubernetes deployment and development patterns
Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast paced environment
Problem-solving skills and a collaborative attitude
Preferred
Preference for candidates with a background in platform, tooling, or infrastructure
Bonus: Experience building orchestration systems/engines
Experience with networking and security controls is a plus
General TCP/IP networking knowledge
Experience in designing and building infrastructure at large scale
Familiar with public cloud platforms ( AWS, Azure, GCP)
