Graduate Assistant Non-Teaching | Institutional Research and Data Analysis

Responsibilities

Perform data quality checks and assist with validation of institutional data
Help identify and document inconsistencies or data integrity issues
Support basic data cleanup, formatting, and organization tasks
Update and maintain the university’s data dictionary and metadata repositories
Document data definitions, reporting rules, and system workflows
Assist in standardizing terminology across departments
Assist in the coordination of Data Stewardship and data governance meetings
Prepare meeting agendas, notes, follow-up items, and presentations
Help maintain project trackers, issue logs, and documentation repositories
Support staff in preparing data reports and dashboards
Conduct simple data analysis using Excel, Google Sheets, or visualization tools

Required

Bachelor's degree in applicable field
Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done
Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term

Preferred

Interest or coursework in data science, IT, business, information systems, or related fields
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or R is helpful but not required
