Responsibilities
Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data warehouse, data lake, and operational systems
Translate business requirements into data structures that ensure high data quality and accessibility
Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, business analysts, and developers to ensure models are correctly implemented
Develop and maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries
Enforce and document data modeling standards, naming conventions, and best practices
Support data integration and ETL/ELT processes by providing data structure guidance
Participate in data governance activities to ensure data consistency and compliance with enterprise standards
Conduct data analysis and profiling to assess data quality and identify improvement opportunities
Review and optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and data access patterns to enhance system performance
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging data modeling tools, techniques, and technologies (e.g., cloud-based modeling, graph data models)
Qualification
Required
12 years of experience in data modeling, database design, or related roles
Experience with data warehousing, OLTP/OLAP systems, and modern data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Strong expertise in data modeling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler, SAP PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, or SQL Developer Data Modeler
Proficiency in SQL and experience working with RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
Knowledge of ETL/ELT concepts and experience collaborating with data engineers
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and master data management (MDM) principles
Understanding of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schema) and data warehouse design
Exposure to cloud data services (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse)
