Sr Electrical Engineer

RP Inc. is seeking experienced Electrical Engineers / Project Engineers to lead the design, development, and execution of advanced on-site power systems supporting hyperscale data centers and critical infrastructure. This role combines power systems engineering leadership with hands-on project execution, requiring strong technical expertise and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical power systems for on-site generation and critical facilities
Perform and review power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis
Support systems integrating natural gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and battery energy storage
Champion automation, real-time monitoring, SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems
Ensure personnel and system safety through arc flash mitigation and fault detection strategies
Provide technical oversight of electrical schematics, layouts, and construction documents
Manage projects from Pre-FEED / FEED through EPC execution
Coordinate with utilities, power providers, EPC firms, OEMs, and equipment vendors
Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, compliance, and constructability
Support procurement of long-lead electrical equipment
Participate in commissioning, site inspections, and field quality control
Communicate electrical design decisions to project leadership and executive teams
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Experience in power system design and analysis
Proficiency with tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent
Working knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NEMA standards
Experience with arc flash studies and mitigation
Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLC programming, and control systems
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

Battery energy storage systems (BESS)
FEED, EPC, or owner-side project execution
Utility coordination and power provider engagement
Vendor and OEM management experience
