Social Media Coordinator
The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to support their mission by creating engaging social media content. The Coordinator will work closely with the Social Media Manager to enhance AFTD's online presence through content creation, community engagement, and basic analytics.
Responsibilities
Create and draft social media content, including captions, graphics, short-form videos, and stories, aligned with AFTD’s brand voice and messaging guidelines
Assist with scheduling and publishing content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube
Support community engagement by monitoring comments and messages and responding with empathy, accuracy, and professionalism
Help adapt existing content (blogs, emails, event information, research updates) into clear, engaging social media posts
Create simple graphics and short videos using tools such as Canva and CapCut (advanced video production is not required)
Track basic social media metrics and assist in preparing monthly reports under the guidance of the Social Media Manager
Help maintain content calendars and support social media planning for campaigns, awareness weeks, events, and fundraisers
Contribute to AFTD’s digital asset library by organizing graphics, photos, and short videos
Stay up to date on social media trends and best practices, especially related to nonprofit and health communications
Provide occasional support to the Communications team with content needs as requested
Qualification
Required
0–2 years of experience in social media, digital communications, or content creation
A social media portfolio is required. Applicants must submit examples of social media content they have created (such as posts, captions, graphics, or short videos), along with a brief explanation of their role in each example
