Responsibilities
Receiving, depositing, and posting customer payments to appropriate trust, operating, customer, or general ledger accounts
Processing direct bill cash receipts and posting commissions based on accompanying statements
Researching commissions received without policy information and ensuring accurate producer assignment
Following up with insurance carriers regarding unpaid commissions and other accounting related issues
Handling requests for account corrections and transfers
Preparing and distributing daily cash receipts reports to producers
Completing month end reconciliations and related reporting
Notifying account managers of non sufficient funds checks and stop payments
Performing other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two or more years of accounts receivable experience
Basic knowledge of accounting terminology and principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Preferred
Experience in the insurance, financial services, or professional services industry
Prior experience working with commissions or trust accounting
