Responsibilities
Carry out tests and monitor special inspections on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and more to confirm compliance with specifications and relevant standards
Examine construction drawings and specifications to ensure they are consistent with project requirements before conducting site visits
Track and record on-site activities and test outcomes in detail throughout the project lifecycle, using tools like Metafield® or similar systems to streamline data entry and coordination
Assist in creating technical reports and proposals for smaller-scale projects, ensuring all findings are clearly documented and well-supported
Maintain regular contact with supervisors, contractors, and clients to share updates, clarify expectations, and support project alignment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a similar engineering field
0-2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
Engineer in Training (EIT) license or on track to obtain
Willingness to obtain at least one (1) industry certification within 6 months of employment
Basic math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
