Responsibilities
Build and maintain API integrations across multiple systems (accounting, fleet, routing, fuel, maintenance)
Manage authentication, tokens, rate limits, error handling, and retries
Design scheduled data pull strategies (daily / hourly / hybrid) aligned with system constraints
Ensure pipelines are resilient, monitored, and recoverable
Design and maintain a cloud-based central data store
Enforce clear separation between:
Raw source data
Transformed / modelled data
Reporting views
Support rolling historical windows (e.g. 30 / 60 / 90 / 180 days)
Ensure data consistency and integrity across refresh cycles
Apply pre-defined financial logic to raw data, including:
Fuel cost adjustments (discounts, fees, rebates)
Asset-level and route-level calculations
Derived KPIs using supplied formulas
Maintain manual adjustment tables for corrections and reconciliations
Ensure raw source data is never overwritten
Build dashboards that support:
Asset-level profitability
Break-even analysis
Trend and variance analysis
Enable:
Drill-downs
Filters (truck, driver, route, date range)
Clear KPI definitions
Ensure dashboards are fast, reliable, and scalable
Ensure every KPI is traceable back to:
Source system
Data pull
Transformation logic
Support QA by:
Exposing raw data views when required
Labelling KPIs with source and calculation logic
Assist with reconciliation back to accounting outputs
Qualification
Required
4+ years' experience in data integration, analytics engineering, or BI
Hands-on experience with REST APIs
Token-based authentication
Rate limits and scheduled data pulls
Strong SQL skills
Experience building centralized data repositories / warehouses
Experience building multi-source dashboards
Experience working with financial or operational data, not just marketing or web analytics
Preferred
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools
Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure, Redshift, or equivalent
Python for data transformation
Prior work with logistics, fleet, transportation, or asset-heavy businesses
Accounting system integrations (e.g. QuickBooks, NetSuite)
