Responsibilities
Design, engineer, implement, and troubleshoot secure network and data security solutions
Assess, plan, and deploy next-generation network security architectures
Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and implementation plans
Support capacity planning, monitoring, and optimization of secure network environments
Lead or assist migrations from legacy security platforms to modern technologies
Troubleshoot critical security incidents and support threat remediation efforts
Coordinate with engineering teams, manage change control, and follow standard operating procedures
Provide guidance and mentoring to team members
Produce weekly status reports and lead status meetings as required
Qualification
Required
Associate degree
Active certifications: Palo Alto Networks PCNSA or Network Security Professional
Active certifications: Cisco CCNA Enterprise or CCNA Security
Palo Alto Networks NGFW, IDS/IPS, VPN, content filtering, DLP, and SSL/TLS inspection
Cisco enterprise switching, routing, and wireless
Reverse proxy and load balancing (A10 Networks)
Network Access Control (Cisco ISE, RADIUS, ACLs)
Cloud networking and security, MFA, PKI, micro-segmentation
Routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)
Vulnerability management and packet analysis tools
Strong troubleshooting and independent work capability
Ability to mentor junior engineers
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong technical documentation skills
Preferred
10+ years of CONUS experience in IT networking and network security
Associate degree in an IT-related field
Advanced or recently expired (within 3 years) certifications: Palo Alto PCNSE or equivalent
Advanced or recently expired (within 3 years) certifications: Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security
