Responsibilities
Repair and overhaul of heavy-duty diesel tractor/trailer rigs, as well as heavy duty diesel and gasoline trucks (light and heavy) and passenger cars
Diagnosis of operational and malfunctions of both diesel and internal combustion engines and subsequent repair or replacement of parts as necessary
Incumbent uses laptop to diagnose heavy equipment (Mack, freight liner) and diagnostic equipment to diagnose vehicles
Overhaul, repair and replace components such as transmissions, all running gear, electrical cooling systems and related work as required
Maintains appropriate records in the FASTER fleet program relative to equipment, including breakdown of parts, labor, downtime, and related information
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience or training as a mechanic
Valid Louisiana driver's license
