Mid LevelCoda Search is representing a futures automated trading firm that is seeking a contract Quantitative Trading Systems Engineer. The main purpose of this role is to streamline and optimize the strategy deployment workflow, reducing the cycle from 1-2 months to 1-2 weeks by improving tooling, automation, and process.

Responsibilities
Optimize and automate the workflow from strategy research to live deployment
Integrate and maintain strategy pipelines using CQG (Desktop & API)
Build, test, and refine backtesting frameworks using Backtrader or VectorBT
Translate strategy logic between Python and Pine Script as needed
Improve reliability, speed, and repeatability of deployments
Apply machine learning techniques where appropriate to research or execution workflows
Collaborate on process design and provide clear documentation
Qualification
Required
Strong Python development experience
Hands-on experience with CQG (Desktop and API)
Experience with Backtrader or VectorBT
Pine Script proficiency
Working knowledge of machine learning techniques
Background in quantitative finance or systematic trading
Preferred
Advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
Prior project management or ownership of end-to-end delivery
Understanding of price action trading principles in index markets
Experience using AI tools (e.g., Google AI Studio) to support research or development
Ability to work independently and deliver in a contract environment
