Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS), advising OIPSA leadership on goals, policy direction, and decision-making while representing the office to campus and external partners
Ensure institutional compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; monitor immigration policy changes and advise stakeholders on regulatory risk and strategy
Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), overseeing SEVIS compliance, I-20/J-1 processing, audits, and data integrity
Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate international student advisors; promote consistent advising practices across campuses and support staff professional development
Oversee ISSS operations, budgets, scholarships, and cost-effective resource management in collaboration with the Assistant Dean
Manage and optimize enrollment and admissions data to assist ISSS, and be responsible for all communications for F and J visa holders
Lead immigration advising for F-1 and J-1 students and scholars, including employment authorization, reinstatements, extensions, and complex case management
Manage and optimize ISSS systems and data (Sunapsis, Banner, CRM), ensuring accurate reporting, student communications, and regulatory documentation
Develop, implement, and assess student support services, orientations, high-impact programs, and cross-cultural initiatives that enhance retention and student success
Plan and submit institutional and regulatory reports (e.g., Open Doors), analyze trends, and use data to inform strategic planning and enrollment initiatives
Collaborate with admissions, recruitment, faculty, and marketing teams to support international enrollment, retention strategies, and recruitment—especially in Mexico
Build and maintain strong relationships with international partners, government agencies, embassies, EducationUSA, employers, alumni, and exchange organizations
Participate in professional organizations, committees, trainings, and special initiatives; support international guests, passport services, and other duties as assigned
Familiarity with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and utilize institutional software systems
Strong verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills, including the ability to write and edit with a strong attention to detail
Performs other related duties as assigned by the leadership of the Office of International Programs and Study Abroad

Required

Bachelor's Degree
Three years of related experience and training to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Occasional traveling required
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR). This is necessary because the selected individual must be eligible for approval to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), as authorized by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the U.S. Department of State
