Controller
Legacy Service Partners is a national leader in residential HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services. As the Controller, you will oversee all financial activities, provide strategic guidance, and ensure the integrity of financial operations, while managing a high-performing finance team and collaborating with department heads to align financial goals with business objectives.
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations, and maintain accurate and timely financial records
Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts to support the company's growth objectives and operational efficiency
Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to drive profitability and mitigate risks
Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analysis to the executive team, providing insights into key financial metrics and trends
Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor performance metrics, aligning financial goals with overall business objectives
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure the accuracy of financial information
Oversee the annual financial audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely completion and compliance with audit requirements
Manage relationships with financial institutions, insurance providers, and other external stakeholders, ensuring the company's financial needs are met
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial management, providing recommendations for process improvements and optimization
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, training, and support to promote professional growth and collaboration
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial systems, processes, and reporting, leveraging technology to streamline operations and enhance efficiency
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in a service industry environment
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of managing and developing a finance team
Customer service focus and mindset, putting our employees and Partners first, with excellent ability to communicate and develop relationships
Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities to improve things both big and small
Highly organized, ability to act quickly while still having attention to detail
Hold yourself to a higher standard and exhibit a high level of integrity
Preferred
CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred
