The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is a nonprofit applied research division of the Georgia Institute of Technology, focused on solving complex problems for the U.S. federal government and industry. The Embedded Real-Time Software Engineer is responsible for developing hard real-time embedded systems software, designing and testing solutions for limited-resource hardware, and working collaboratively within a team to innovate new concepts and execute research.

Responsibilities

Design, test, and develop software packages to meet system requirements
Develop and maintain software and scripts to support embedded software development and processes
Follow embedded software and firmware development processes established by the organization and/or project team
Contribute to technical reports and presentations
Other related duties, as assigned
Develop software for Military embedded systems applications
Develop software requirements and design
Develop software using approved coding standards and processes
Provide software development estimates
Ensure software is developed to meet military, safety, and security standards
Create and deliver technical presentations

Required

Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited degree program relevant to this position will be considered. The candidate must have a graduation date of no later than May 2026
Software engineering experience with developing in languages such as C/C++ and/or Ada
Experience developing real-time software
Due to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance
