Responsibilities
Performs general repairs to all movable structures throughout District 02/Bridge City. This includes any and all mechanical repairs within the Bridge Operator house. This includes all bridge components, both moveable as well as fixed. Makes general repairs, including tune-ups, oil and filter changes, preventative maintenance, replacement, and adjustment of worn or damaged parts, etc. to a variety of equipment as necessary to ensure proper maintenance off all equipment. Starts, operates, and performs safety and maintenance checks on a wide variety of equipment, facility standby generators, vehicles, and crew boats
Performs preventative maintenance for all movable bridges within the District 02/Bridge City area, including, but not limited to: greasing, replacing worn or damaged parts, preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes on standby generators, and inspection of all mechanical components. Performs structural repairs to fixed steel or concrete structures, performs traffic control duties, and operates workboat as needed. Required to be on call for emergency repair, bridge openings, or other support activities. Operates manually operated drawbridges within District 02/Bridge City
Qualification
Required
A valid Louisiana Class “D” Chauffeur's License is required before appointment
