They are seeking an Assistant Estimator to apply their Data Science or Computer Science background to the pre-construction workflow, generating structured data and actionable insights for projects while supporting the Lead Estimator.

Responsibilities
Communicate with new and existing clients to obtain necessary information to create construction estimates
Perform quantity take-offs and generate scopes of work for all trades/materials like flooring, plumbing & lighting fixtures, siding material, glazing, all interior/exterior doors, etc
Contact Sub Contractors and vendors and obtain proposals and quotes from them
Identify and communicate with W/MBE businesses as required by project type
Take the initiative to communicate with the Lead Estimator and our internal team to prioritize projects for estimation and meet deadlines
Maintain a pricing database with up-to-date vendor and contractor pricing
The creation of this database, along with automated methods for keeping it up to date will be a significant early task of this role
Maintain Master Sub Contractor list, updating as necessary with latest information
Work closely with Project Management team to make sure all the drawings and documents in Procore are accurate and updated
Qualification
Required
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Effective communication skills, written and verbal
Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook
Degree in Data Science or Computer Science required
Any estimating experience with Prevailing Wage extremely helpful
Preferred
Familiarity with the CSI MasterFormat work breakdown structure
Familiarity with construction management & AIA contracting requirements
Procore proficiency strongly preferred
