Responsibilities

Provide a World Class patient experience, focusing on Service Excellence and one contact resolution with each and every patient interaction
Responsible for all aspects of application support including basic design and analysis, application configuration, testing, system documentation, and training, as needed
Provide Epic Cadence support for all Physician Division Scheduling services including template design and Decision Tree build
Participates in the build, rollout, and support of the assigned application, acting as first-level response for the assigned application(s) by communicating with end users of the system to understand issues and implement solutions
Collaborate with department leaders regarding the use of assigned applications, to maximize department performance and leadership decision-making
Update Scheduling Services Leadership, business partners, and others as appropriate on a timely basis regarding progress on assigned tasks, projects and issues via written and / or oral reports
Take part in training and collaborate with end users, acting as a liaison with department appointed Cadence team for training and coordination of all processes
Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives, including participation in weekly project team meetings
Work with Epic representatives, Scheduling Services and Physician Services Leadership, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline
Develop an understanding of operational needs to determine the direction for the organization's workflows, including site visits and other integrated sessions
Develop and maintain clear, understandable documentation to describe program development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. Update system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports, and interfaces
Protect the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures
Evaluate and document client needs and all aspects of business processes both operational and financial, including current process analysis and proposed revisions to optimize business processes
Assist with the design and documentation of business/system functional requirements to facilitate the development of deliverables such as request for Proposals and/or Information, custom development efforts, and project-based planning documents such as scope documents and client services communication
Partner with ISD staff, clients and/or vendors to evaluate technology solutions including both packaged system solutions and custom development application and component development options
Develop information technology solutions in component based, custom development and/or package system environments
Ensure quality of information technology solutions through business case and application-level testing; validates test results to initial business needs
Design and document system level and end user level procedures to support business applications

Required

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant business experience
OR High School Diploma / GED with 4 years of relevant experience required
1 year of Epic Cadence build and implementation experience required
Good oral and written communication skills are required
Extensive related experience will be considered
Strong computer skills with expert knowledge in Word, Excel and EpicCare/eRecord preferred
Service Excellence as a way of thinking and the attitude that is portrayed
Ability to help others embrace the spirit of service
Leadership skills to manage and motivate team members to provide a high level of service excellence
Proven success in finding innovative solutions to enhance the patient experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must

Attention to detail and accuracy is critical to the success of this position, with demonstrated competency in customer orientation and the ability to deal with ambiguity
Excellent planning, communication, documentation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way, including the capability to re-engineer processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy
Knowledge and good understanding of all products and benefit designs of UPMC Health
Available to work overtime if required
Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm, and initiative on a daily basis, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, and forge strong interpersonal relationships within the department, with other departments, and with external audiences
Project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously required
Must possess technical knowledge and expertise in understanding patient access, physician template utilization and an understanding of the complex information system solutions and the implementation/support of those solutions in the client community
Well-informed and conversant with general business, economic, and clinical matters
Effective analytical skills are required

Preferred

Experience with Decision Tree and/or template build
Strong computer skills with expert knowledge in Word, Excel and EpicCare/eRecord preferred
Knowledge of clinical workflow and JCAHO and DOH regulations are preferred
Experience in QA / Audit / Systems Testing / Development / Execution preferred
