Responsibilities
Support MGK’s University of Minnesota R&D program
Manage field maintenance and data collection for important MGK germplasm
Draft trial plans, data sheets, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Process and organize data for research trials
Support development and execution of research trial plans
Support indoor cultivation and testing of MGK botanicals of interest
Perform laboratory sample preparation and processing, including grinding, extraction, and organization of plant material
Support chemistry-based testing activities, requiring attention to detail and extended periods of bench work
Assist with fungicide residual testing and seed oil analysis under the guidance of senior staff
Present research and findings on a regular basis
Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualification
Required
Pursuing or completion of a BA/BS or graduate degree in a plant science related field
Coursework or hands-on experience in chemistry, plant science, or related laboratory techniques; comfort with repetitive, detail-oriented lab work
Training in greenhouse management, field management, bioinformatics, plant genetics, agronomy, and experimental design
Demonstrated multi-tasking and time management skills
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
Effective communication both written and verbal
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
