Responsibilities
Perform overhead and underground layout and rough-in
Terminate all types of copper cable including coaxial, multi-pair and Category 3 through 6
Measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install cable tray using measuring devices and hand tools
Assemble and install relay racks, network cabinets, wall fields, and components
Perform fiber optic cable & structured cabling installations and terminations following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints
Correctly set up and operate copper and fiber optic testing equipment
Qualification
Required
1-3 years of related Network, Cable Technician experience
Requires at least OSHA 10 training
Able to read and understand blueprints and specification sheets
Knows and understands standards for installation of structured cabling and network backbone
General knowledge of fiber optic cabling and installation
Experience testing using Fluke testers
Experience with installation of multi-tier cable tray systems
Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with copper systems
Able to build out IDF cabinets and closets
Understanding of grounding/bonding requirements
Strong communication and leadership skills (for Level III Tech)
MUST have reliable transportation
Preferred
OSHA 30
