Responsibilities
Support merchandise flow
Pull, stage, and confirm pallets of released merchandise sent to associate stores
Ensure all shipped merchandise is accounted for and properly delivered
Dispose of or destroy damaged, unsellable merchandise
Provide operational customer service
Assist suppliers with deliveries at the drop‑off door and help locate lost or misplaced merchandise
Research merchandise routing errors, claims, and lost freight sent to the Layout Center
Follow up with suppliers on pick‑ups, shipments, and sample coordination
Answer questions regarding Layout Center shipping policies and procedures
Support fixture setup and line reviews
Build and tear down fixtures needed for merchandise sales proposals and line reviews
Maintain accurate signage and fixture organization on the steel
Assist suppliers and associates with locating fixtures, merchandise, and materials
Provide support for various facility tasks and project-based needs
Maintain safety and security
Follow all safety and compliance procedures while operating forklifts, pallet riders, and other power equipment
Monitor supplier activity and report concerns when individuals enter restricted areas
Ensure shipping and receiving areas remain secure and compliant, directing suppliers to proper entry points
Maintain cleanliness and organization
Perform general facility housekeeping—sweeping, organizing, removing trash, and operating floor scrubbers
Bale cardboard and plastic; manage recycling of cans, plastic, and paper per company policies
Keep counters, fixtures, aisles, and work areas clean and properly supplied
Call for pickup of bale materials and ensure pallets are wrapped and stored correctly
Execute work assignments effectively
Use company policies, data, and available resources to complete prioritized tasks
Collaborate with managers, coworkers, and business partners to meet deadlines and expectations
Communicate status updates and identify opportunities for improvement
Adapt to change, learn from feedback, and support continuous improvement
Maintain ethics and compliance
Follow all company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity
Apply the Open Door Policy and support ethical business processes and decisions
Qualification
Required
Ability to operate power equipment safely (e.g., forklifts, pallet riders)
Strong customer service skills for supporting suppliers, buyers, associates, and internal partners
Problem‑solving ability to research lost merchandise, routing errors, and claims
Organizational skills for managing fixtures, signage, pallets, and work areas
Attention to detail in verifying shipments, maintaining safety, and ensuring merchandise accuracy
Willingness to perform physical tasks, including fixture setup, teardown, and general housekeeping
Effective communication skills to address questions, coordinate with partners, and share updates
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive mindset when addressing challenges and change
Commitment to ethics, safety, and compliance with company standards
Preferred
Experience reading blueprints and/or floorplans
Walmart process knowledge
