Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analytics professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to identify and prioritize data and analytics requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory compliance
Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of AbbVie's data management and analytics solutions using Palantir Foundry platform
Drive the adoption and utilization of Palantir Foundry's capabilities to streamline data ingestion, data transformation, data quality, data governance, and analytics workflows
Work closely with stakeholders like Data Product Managers, Capability Product Owners, Affiliates, Customer Excellence to understand their data needs, challenges, and opportunities, and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions
Define and implement data governance strategies, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security in adherence to regulations and internal policies
Develop and optimize data pipelines, data transformation processes, and data models to enable efficient and reliable data consumption by various business units
Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and data visualization, leveraging Palantir Foundry's capabilities
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data and analytics initiatives on commercial operations
Provide thought leadership and contribute to the development of data and analytics strategies, roadmaps, and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data engineering, bioinformatics, or a related field with 9 years' experience; Master's Degree with 8 years' experience; PhD with 4 years' experience
Proven experience (8+ years) in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals
Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry or other similar data management platforms, including data governance, data modeling, and analytics capabilities
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, SQL, and/or Scala
Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases, and familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure
Solid understanding of analytics methodologies, including machine learning, predictive modeling, and data visualization techniques
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements and scientific concepts into technical solutions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a highly regulated environment
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, such and data privacy laws, is highly desirable
