Feldspar & Flint LLC is a NYC metro area Recruiting & Staffing firm that specializes in operational strategy across core business functions. They are seeking a hands-on Network Engineering Manager to lead the design, operation, and evolution of a highly available enterprise network environment, ensuring resilient voice, data, video, and wireless services.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers and technicians supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and fabric network environments
Architect, deploy, and operate modern network fabrics, with a strong preference for Extreme Networks solutions (including SPB/SDN-based architectures)
Plan and execute network design, expansion, and lifecycle management to support business growth and high-availability requirements
Establish and enforce network standards, policies, procedures, and documentation
Monitor network performance, capacity, and reliability; drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define network requirements for new initiatives and platforms
Oversee network-related vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation, performance management, and renewals
Manage network budgets, purchasing, and cost justification for infrastructure investments
Ensure network security, compliance, disaster recovery readiness, and regulatory alignment
Stay current on emerging networking technologies, fabric architectures, and industry best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
8+ years of progressive network engineering experience in complex, high-availability, regulated environments
Prior experience leading and developing teams of network engineers and technicians
Strong hands-on experience with Extreme Networks platforms; Extreme certifications highly preferred
Demonstrated expertise in network fabric architectures, enterprise LAN/WAN design, and wireless networking
Solid understanding of routing, switching, and network protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, DNS, DHCP, SPB, SDN)
Experience with network capacity planning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting at scale
Proven ability to manage vendors, contracts, and external service partners
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Preferred
Extreme certifications highly preferred
