Responsibilities
Advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation
Visiting farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedy when possible
Monitoring feed consumption and ordering if necessary
Pulling blood and fat samples as required
Coordinating chick placements to farms
Assisting with catch schedules
Ensuring communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding their contract farms
Ensuring compliance with the production contract to optimize flock quality and minimize costs
Ensuring adherence to all USDA and other government regulations regarding poultry handling
Working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements
Performing other responsibilities as the need arises
Qualification
Required
Education: bachelor's degree preferred
Experience: 1+ years of related work experience
Computer Skills: Elementary computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries
Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year
Must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl
