Responsibilities

Design propulsion system valves and fluid components including cryogenic, high pressure and high temperature systems
Own all aspects of component design from initial concepts to product realization
Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as required
Establish assembly procedures and work hands-on with technicians to refine this process
Define and support rigorous component development and qualification testing
Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
5+ years of demonstrated experience in valve or component design
A strong understanding of component design including: materials selection, compatibility, seals, wear, and force/torque margin determination
Hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical and mechanical systems
Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware
Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Preferred

Experience designing and operating high reliability, high performance hardware
Experience with low leakage, on-orbit propulsion components
Experience in a startup or agile development environment
Strong project management skills and effective communication of technical concepts across multi-disciplinary teams
