American Rheinmetall is a leader in the design, development, and production of advanced tracked and wheeled vehicles. They are seeking an aspiring engineer to fill an Engineering Intern position, where the intern will learn the responsibilities of a professional engineer and assist in the development of automotive systems and components.

Responsibilities

Learn the responsibilities of an engineer
Incorporate academic knowledge into hands-on work
Assist with administrative duties around the office
Participate in the development of automotive systems, components, or processes
Undertake other Engineering duties as determined by manager or delegate

Required

Current student or recent graduate of a Mechanical or Electronic Engineering program
General aptitude for Mobility related subsystems
Affinity for vehicle architecture
Training or experience in common engineering computer programs, such as Creo or SolidWorks
Must be able to communicate effectively
Practical ‘hands on' attitude with the ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment
Must work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others, promoting collaboration and teamwork across the organization and its external service providers
High level of self-motivation and standards with the ability to multi-task; balancing 'analysis' with 'doing'
Must be adaptable and able to prioritize to meet deadlines on own initiative
Enthusiasm for learning new skills
General understanding of vehicle propulsion systems
Ability to ‘dig deep' to technically understand and explain a Mobility subsystem (e.g. Engine, Transmission, Exhaust, Cooling)
Knowledge of, or ability to learn CAD based design systems (Creo preferred)
Knowledge of, or interest in Systems Engineering Standards & Processes
Knowledge of, or interest in Modeling and Simulation of System behavior or components
Pursuing a bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
High School diploma or GED
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing
