Responsibilities
Acts as the owner’s rep overseeing architects, engineers, and design consultants
Coordinates project initiation, pre-design requirements, and ongoing design compliance
Ensures alignment with budget, legislative scope, technical standards, and user agency needs
Manages and processes design changes, amendments, and invoices
Evaluates designer performance and enforces standards
Monitors contractor performance through all construction phases
Ensures timely project starts, change order management, quality assurance, and documentation
Oversees pay applications, warranty periods, and closeout procedures
Conducts site visits and verifies adherence to contract terms
Tracks milestones and budget data in the LaGov Project System
Manages design schedules, extensions, and financial records
Ensures proper budget setup, tracks appropriations, and initiates closeouts upon project completion
Evaluates construction funding requests from agencies
Assesses feasibility, analyzes cash flow, and aligns projects with state building priorities
Handles ad hoc or assigned projects outside core duties
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design
A bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design
A current Louisiana license in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design
